The Capital Development Authority (CDA) in Islamabad has announced plans to develop a new housing scheme called ‘Kurri Enclave Housing Scheme’. The scheme will cover an area of 10,000 kanals in Kurri village.
The CDA will partner with a private firm, either a leading real estate developer or a consortium of firms, to develop the project, which is estimated to cost billions of rupees. The CDA had previously received approval from its board to launch housing schemes in collaboration with the private sector. The selection of a real estate firm to execute the project will be based on Expression of Interests (EoIs) received from reputed firms. The chosen firm will invest in and plan the project.
The caretaker Prime Minister had recently directed the CDA to focus on vertical development of residential projects in order to maximize the number of housing units in Islamabad.
