The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced plans to construct a new model village in the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). Spanning across 3621 kanal of land, the project is expected to be completed within two years.
The model village will comprise of 4500 residential plots, each measuring 10-marla. Additionally, the village will house a commercial center and three class 3 shopping centers. To cater to the needs of the community, a Jamia mosque and a health center will also be established.
CDA Chairman, Captain ® Anwarul Haq, has directed the Project Director, Abdul Rasheed, to hire a consultant firm for the project. The terms of reference (TORs) have been prepared, and a summary will be presented in the upcoming CDA board meeting to hire the consultant firm. The selected firm will be responsible for preparing development documents, inviting tenders, formulating PC one, and overseeing the construction work of the model village.
All the residential plots in the model village will be allotted to those individuals whose land was acquired by the CDA for the Park Enclave project. Affected people from Mauza Kurri and Rihara will be given plots in this model village. Despite facing delays for nine years, the project has received an order from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to commence and complete the construction within the stipulated two-year timeframe.
