Federal Govt Launches PSDP Portal for Scheme Transparency.

Federal Govt Launches PSDP Portal To Ensure Transparency In Schemes.

The federal government has introduced the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) portal, a revolutionary initiative aimed at ensuring transparency. The portal provides online access to data on ongoing and previous-year development schemes worth Rs1.1 trillion. This is the inaugural moment in the nation’s history where comprehensive information on PSDP project is accessible to the public.

The portal was officially launched by Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special Initiatives, Mr. Ahsan Iqbal.
The PSDP serves as a crucial framework for the government’s development agenda, setting priorities under the national plan. By leveraging digital technologies, this initiative aims to enhance transparency, improve governance, and promote public awareness of the government’s development priorities. Through the portal, citizens can gain valuable insights into development projects taking place across the country, including their objectives, scope, and impact. This fosters public engagement and participation, creating a sense of ownership among the citizens.
Federal Minister Mr. Ahsan Iqbal considers this initiative a landmark achievement, as it strengthens transparency in PSDP projects while directly engaging citizens through the portal. He believes it will help bridge the trust deficit that existed between the state and its citizens. The Planning Ministry has recently launched the 5Es framework, focusing on Exports, Energy, E-Pakistan, Environment, and Equity. The PSDP portal aligns with the vision of an E-Pakistan under this framework and demonstrates the ministry’s commitment to utilizing technology for the betterment of the nation.
The introduction of the PSDP portal marks a significant milestone in Pakistan’s history, as it promotes transparency, citizen engagement, and informed decision-making in the country’s development processes.
