The Executive Board of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has authorized the reopening of membership for sectors G-12 and F-12 in Islamabad, Pakistan. This decision was made during a meeting led by the Federal Secretary of Housing and Construction, Dr. Shahzad Khan Bangash. Citizens were encouraged to submit fresh applications to purchase plots in these sectors, as the price is likely to increase.
The meeting also discussed the allocation of plots for overseas Pakistanis and the general public, with a 15 percent quota for overseas Pakistanis and a 20 percent quota for the general public. However, the price of the plots was hurriedly fixed at a lower rate, prompting the board to review and revise it.
During the meeting, a proposal was put forward to increase the price of a one kanal plot from Rs30 million to Rs40.5 million, but the final price will be determined after further deliberation. Additionally, applicants who are not interested in purchasing a plot due to the price increase will be allowed to withdraw their registration fee. The board also decided to advertise the availability of new memberships.
The meeting also approved tenders for three closed residential projects: Chaklala Heights Rawalpindi, Skyline New Airport, and Kashmir Avenue G-13. Due to an increase in the cost of construction materials, the old contractors declined to carry out the work. As a result, an agreement was reached to terminate their services, and the board gave its approval for this decision. The board emphasized the importance of completing these projects in a timely manner and called for new tenders to be invited in a way that provides subsidies to allottees and minimizes financial burdens for employees.
Furthermore, the board has authorized the auction of 19 commercial plots in G-13/3, G-14/3, and G-14/4, as well as a petrol pump in the Mauve area of G-13. Lastly, the meeting approved the hiring of an audit firm for the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority.
