Caretaker Punjab Govt resumes work on Southern Ring Road Project after 12 years.

LAHORE: The caretaker Punjab government has announced the resumption of work on the Ring Road (southern loop-3) project.
“After a break of 12 years, the project has started again. Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi mentioned this while visiting the project site near Multan Road Maraka to check on the progress. He wants to improve transportation options for people through this project.

He expressed his confidence that the project will be completed by December 31, 2023. He explained that earlier delays were due to legal disputes. But now those disputes have been solved so the work can move forward smoothly.

Completion of this project will significantly reduce traffic jams for people traveling from southern Punjab to Lahore thereby easing the burden on Thokar and Canal Road. Mr. Naqvi also highlighted the prospective benefits that the residents of housing schemes along Multan Road will get from this project.
