After a mere five months of construction, the city of Gujranwala is now seamlessly connected to the Sialkot-Lahore Motorway thanks to the newly opened Gujranwala Expressway, inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
This impressive 15.2km, two-lane expressway slashes travel time between Gujranwala and Lahore to a stunning 45 minutes. Imagine, reaching Lahore in the same time it takes to cross Lahore city itself!
Chief Minister Naqvi inspected the expressway and commended the high-quality work by FWO (Frontier Works Organization). He acknowledged the relentless efforts of numerous stakeholders, including the Secretary Communication and Works, local administration, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Commissioner Gujranwala and his team, and individuals like Colonel Imran who tirelessly ensured the project’s timely completion.
A commercial area around the expressway and an overhead bridge connecting it to Chan da Qilla are on the horizon. Additionally, the Safe City Project in Gujranwala promises enhanced security and potential benefits for election monitoring.
