Islamabad residents can look forward to enjoying a greener future with the Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) plans to develop a number of new modern parks across the city. This initiative aims to enhance recreational facilities for residents and those living in surrounding areas.
The CDA has a strong track record in park development, having built approximately 37 public parks in the federal capital over the past ten years. They are now actively formulating a policy to significantly increase the number of parks in the coming years.
While the exact timeframe for park development varies, officials estimate that once the necessary formalities are completed, a new park can be built within three to four months.
While Islamabad currently boasts six amusement parks, which are considered sufficient to meet current recreational needs, the CDA is taking a forward-thinking approach. A new policy dictates that an amusement park will be constructed alongside the development of any new sector in the city.
Several new sectors are currently under development by the CDA, including I-11, I-12, I-14, I-15, I-16, D-12, and Park Enclave. These areas will not only see new housing options but also the creation of Model Villages and parks, ensuring a well-rounded living environment.
The CDA emphasizes that the new parks will be strategically placed to meet the needs of residents once these areas are fully developed. The park locations will be determined by the CDA-approved layout plan for each sector.
This commitment to expanding green spaces within Islamabad demonstrates the CDA’s dedication to improving the quality of life for its residents. The addition of modern parks will provide opportunities for residents to connect with nature, engage in outdoor activities, and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.
