Pak Army set to launch its farming plan for 41,000 acres of land.

The Pakistan Army is embarking on an ambitious agriculture farming project in the Zarmalam area of South Waziristan. Initially starting with 1,000 acres of land, the project aims to expand to 41,000 acres over the coming years. Lieutenant General Sardar Hasan Azhar Hayat, the Corps Commander in Peshawar, stated that the Army is committed to increasing agricultural farming in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The barren lands in the Zarmalan area have been identified as an opportunity for investment in minerals, hydropower, agriculture, and tourism. The Army, in collaboration with the civil government, is working to attract investment in these sectors to boost the resources of the province. General Hayat emphasized the potential for employment opportunities through the provision of facilities for investors.

Moreover, General Hayat is actively engaging with various communities to foster better relations between the masses and the armed forces. He is meeting with students, teachers, scholars, and other sections of society, particularly the people of the merged districts. This outreach aims to bridge the gap between the armed forces and the local population.

The collaboration between the provincial government and the armed forces has led to significant progress in fighting illegal activities such as the use of illegal mobile Sims, explosives, extortion, Hundi (hawala), illegal arms, smuggling, fake documents, and drug trafficking. Federal and provincial departments, along with intelligence agencies, are working together to effectively prevent these illicit activities.

The agricultural farming project in South Waziristan is expected to enhance agricultural productivity in the region and promote food self-sufficiency. As the project expands, it is anticipated to bring economic growth and opportunities to the province.
