PM Shehbaz Sharif inaugurates Bhara Kahu Bypass

On Thursday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially inaugurated the Bhara Kahu Bypass, a significant infrastructure project. The project was initiated in October 2022 and was executed by NLC within nine months for Rs6.25 billion. It has removed a major bottleneck for millions of travelers traveling to Muree, Kashmir, and Galliyat.

Describing the inauguration of the Bahara Kahu Bypass as a moment of satisfaction, the prime minister highlighted the positive impact of the project on the convenience of travelers from Islamabad, Punjab, and KP who intend to visit AJK and Galliyat. He said the project should have been completed years ago but the current govt conceived it and managed to accomplish it within nine months despite challenges including a land dispute with Quaid-e-Azam University which was settled through court.

The prime minister said he had given a three-month target for the project completion which was also achievable had there been no challenges.

The premier further told the congregation that after the opening of LCs, the environment-friendly electric buses were set to reach Islamabad for the facilitation of the residents of Islamabad.
Additionally, the prime minister instructed the CDA to undertake a tree-planting initiative around the Bhara Kahu Bypass. While approximately 70,000 trees have already been planted, the prime minister directed to plant a total of one million trees in the vicinity.
