RDA and NADRA partner to streamline property transfers with biometric verification.

The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) and the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) have partnered to improve property transfer processes through biometric verification services. The RDA’s governing body approved this agreement in a meeting chaired by Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatha.

In addition, an MoU between the RDA and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) was also approved to implement the e-filing and office automation system (EFOAS), which will make biometric verification mandatory for property buyers and sellers.

Key participants in the meeting included DG RDA, Mohammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the Chief of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA), officials from the Finance Department, the deputy commissioner’s office, and various other government officials.

DG RDA Mr. Liaquat Ali Chatha expressed his optimism about the NADRA-RDA agreement, highlighting its importance in facilitating transparent property transfers. He commends the RDA’s strategic decision to implement EFOAS, recognizing its efficiency in handling daily official tasks and its contribution towards a paperless office environment. Additionally, EFOAS offers 24/7 digital access to all official correspondence, further enhancing the accessibility and convenience of government processes.

The meeting also approved the reserve prices for billboards and the RDA parking plaza, which is expected to increase the authority’s revenue by 100%.

Additionally, the meeting supported the decision by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to transfer the processing of housing schemes and commercial buildings within Islamabad’s boundaries, as determined by the Survey of Pakistan to the federal authority. The RDA will provide refunds for building plan fees currently under review.
