The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDA) is on track to achieve a major milestone in its infrastructure development efforts. The authority is aiming to install 23 girders at the Walton Railway Crossing within an ambitious timeframe of three working days.
This achievement comes after the successful placement of 120 girders already. To expedite construction of the flyover’s most intricate section, close collaboration between PCBDDA and Pakistan Railways has resulted in an agreement to conduct construction activities during a designated night window. Specifically, crews will work from midnight to 6:00 am for three consecutive nights.
This strategic approach allows PCBDDA to focus on the complex railway crossing area while minimizing disruptions to both daily traffic flow and train schedules.
Emphasizing the project’s importance, PCBDDA CEO Imran Amin highlighted the team’s unwavering commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering on its promises. He commended the dedication of the entire PCBDDA team, underlining their resolve to improve the region’s infrastructure and address critical transportation challenges.

Beyond the flyover progress, PCBDDA has secured another accomplishment by finalizing the asphalt work on CBD Route 47, extending up to the MSC wall slope. This development paves the way for a seamless connection between the flyover and CBD Punjab Route 47. This vital addition will establish a direct and efficient route between Walton Road and the Main Boulevard Gulberg, significantly reducing traffic congestion and improving overall traffic flow in the area.
Expressing his confidence in the project’s positive impact, CEO Amin stated that the successful completion of the Walton Railway Crossing Flyover will significantly improve traffic flow and accessibility within the region by providing a direct route from Walton Road to the Main Boulevard Gulberg.
